INGREDIENTS

Yam - 400gms
Toor Dhal - 50gms
Seasonings- Mustard, coriander, curry leaves, asafoetida
One lemon

METHOD

Cut Yam into small pieces. Along with the toor dhal, cook it in a pressure cooker. Grind the cooked yam and dhal in a mixer. Heat a little oil in a kadai and pour the fine paste of yam and dhal after grinding. Add the seasonings after frying them in oil or ghee. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add salt and mix well. Then add coriander leaves. Finally add a few drops of lemon juice. A tasty "Yam Masiyal" is ready to serve. Goes well with plain rice.

Serves: a family of four.
