MORE (BUTTERMILK) KOLAMBU

INGREDIENTS

Toor dhal, Urad dhal and green gram in equal measure - 100 gms.
Green or red chillies - 2
Butter Milk - a little sour- preferred - 200 ml.
Turmeric powder
Seasonings- fenugreek, mustard, curry leaves, coriander, asafoetida.
 
METHOD
 
Soak the mixture of dhals in water along with a little coriander seeds overnight. Grind the above in a mixer into a rough mixture. Mix this with the butter milk and stir well. Add a little turmeric powder. Boil this mixture for 5-7 minutes after adding salt. After it boils, add all the seasonings mentioned above fried in a little oil. The tasty "More Kolambu" is ready to serve. It is a very tasty accompaniment to plain white rice and is a regular South Indian vegetarian dish cooked in most families.
