INGREDIENTS
| Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the Yam and Plantain pieces, add turmeric powder and salt and cook till soft and tender. | |
| Grind 3/4 cup of coconut with Black pepper and raw rice by adding very little water and add the paste to the vegetables while they are cooking. | |
| Cook the vegetables for about 10 minutes. In a fry pan heat the coconut oil and fry the mustard seeds and curry leaves and add it to the cooked gravy. | |
| Finally fry the remaining 1/4 cup of coconut with little coconut oil in the fry pan till it turns golden color and add it to the gravy. | |
| This is called Eriseri. It is a popular dish in Kerala. Eriseri can be served along with hot plain rice. |
