MADHU VADA

 

INGREDIENTS

Urad dal

250 gm

Curd (chilled and thick)

500 gm

Fresh coconut (grated)

1

Mustard seeds

1 tsp.

Kari patta

8-10

Sugar

2 tsp.

Salt

1 tsp.

Oil

for frying vada

METHOD 

Soak the dal over night. Grind it and beat till it becomes soft and fluffy. Add salt and mix well. Heat oil in a kadahi. Slightly wet your palm and make medium sized badas. Then make the hole in middle of bada. Fry till it gets golden brown. Keep these badas in cold water for 2 hours. Take out the badas from water and squeeze them. Add sugar, coconut and salt to the curd and beat it. Keep aside. Heat 2 tbsp. oil. Add mustard seeds and kari patta. Put this tadka in the curd. Put the badas in the curd. Mix slightly. For better taste serve it chilled.

Serves: 10-12 adults.
