I am Rachita

writing , reading and web surfing are my interests. Here I am giving
the recipe of Apple Delite which is a easy to make and softly delicious
dessert. Happy cooking!!
I would love to receive your comments on Rachitagupta@hotmail.com.
INGREDIENTS
Apples
(red or yellow) : 5 medium sized
Water
: 1/2 cup
White
sugar : 1/2 cup
Bread
Crumbs : 1 cup
Cardamom
powder : 1 tsp
Butter : 4 tsp
METHOD
|
Peel and chop the apples. Heat a deep pan and put 1 tsp butter in it. When it has melted add the apples. Saute for 2 minutes and then add the water. Allow the apples to cook and become soft. Cover the pan with lid and put on slow heat to cook. When cooked, coarsely mash with a masher or flat spoon. Let some pieces be visible partially. Mix in the cardomom powder.
|
In another pan melt the rest of the butter and saute the bread crumbs on low heat. Allow the crumbs to become light brown. Add the sugar to it and stir till it is melted and has mixed well with crumbs.
|
When the apples are cooked, on a flat dish arrange a layer of the crumbs and put the layer of apples on it. Cover with a thin layer of crumbs again.
|
You
now have the option of having it hot or cold. If you want it hot you can
bake the dish (in step 3) in oven for 10 mins at 300 degrees. If cold, chill
for 1 hour and then serve with thinly
sliced pieces of apple on top. |
Serves:
5-6 persons
