TASTY CREAM CAKE

 

INGREDIENTS 

Malai (milk topping)

180 gm

Sugar

1 cup

Vanila essence

1 tsp.

Baking powder

tsp.

Soda

1 tsp.

Milk as required

or cup

Maida

180 gm

METHOD 

Sieve maida, baking powder and soda together. Mix sugar and malai in a pan. Keep aside for 10 minutes. Mix till the sugar dissolves. Do not over beat. Add maida and essence. Add enough milk as required to make a smooth and light batter of a dropping consistency. Beat well. Take a cake tin and grease it with butter. Put butter paper according to its size and dust with flour. Bake it in a preheated oven at 210C/400F for 10 minutes. Lower the temperature to 150C/300F and bake for 35-40 minutes. If a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, remove from the oven after 5 minutes.

Makes: Cake of approx. 1 pound
